Can you share with me how you two met and how it began?
We have actually known each other since junior high because I have always been friends with his older brother but I did not know him very well. Fast forward 15-20 years later and we saw each other at a birthday party just a week prior to COVID beginning and we just hit it off. We basically spent almost every single day together because we weren’t able to do anything else during the pandemic. We thrived even with absolutely nothing to do and stuck mostly at home but always made the best of it and also got along so well. It felt too good to be true but it didn’t take long for both of us to realize we were meant for each other and this would be a long term relationship.
Also, how long have you been dating ? We have been dating since March of 2020 so about 3.5 years What were the most romantic things he/she did? Bride: I booked us a really nice vacation package to Mexico for a week with some pre-booked dinners and activities. It was our very first trip away after 2 years of dating since COVID restrictions had finally eased up. One of the top things I booked was a 2 hour hydrotherapy session and it was one of the best things we’ve ever done and overall was such a relaxing and wonderful trip.
Groom: Its really hard to top the proposal in Kelowna but honestly a close second would be coming home to an amazing homemade Italian dinner along with a beautiful bottle of wine he had saved for a special occasion. As much as I love going out to eat, I enjoy being at home and having him do that for me was so romantic and sweet.
How did he propose? We were in Kelowna, BC with our families and one day we wanted to spend time just us two so he took me to the Quails’ Gate Winery. We walked around for a little and then ended up right where the vineyard’s start and where the view of the lake is so beautiful. We stood there for a couple minutes enjoying the peacefulness and amazing views and then all of a sudden he got down on one knee with my dream ring and asked me to marry him. It was such a surreal moment and I truly had no idea so he really did give me the biggest surprise of my life. We stayed a little bit longer taking it all in while we had other people clapping and giving their congratulations to us, it was really something truly special. |
